Se trata de una iniciativa perteneciente al INTA, que busca fomentar la creación de huertas hogareñas. Promueve la agroecología y la educación alimentaria, permitiendo el acceso a productos orgánicos, saludables y económicos.
Vecinos de Exaltación de la Cruz continúan recibiendo las entregas de semillas pertenecientes al programa Pro Huerta del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA), con el apoyo de la dirección de Producción del Municipio. Se trata de una iniciativa que busca promover la creación de huertas hogareñas, permitiendo así el acceso a productos orgánicos de calidad, y económicos.
Durante las últimas semanas, los beneficiarios han sido habitantes de Los Cardales, Parada Robles y Diego Gaynor, pero también han accedido al programa previamente vecinos de Capilla del Señor, Sakura y Pavón, entre otros.
Vale señalar que la promoción de estas prácticas productivas agroecológicas, también apuntan al autoabastecimiento, la educación alimentaria, la promoción de ferias y la creación de mercados alternativos con una mirada inclusiva.
A través de Pro Huerta, además de semillas se han entregado plantines de distintas variedades, como parte del mismo proceso, tendiente a incentivar a los vecinos en esta iniciativa saludable.
“Dentro de nuestra huerta aprendemos a respetar la biodiversidad y por ende comprendemos que lo que necesitamos para vivir es más sencillo de lo que pensamos: Ese es el mensaje que queremos compartir”, señaló la coordinadora de Educación Ambiental del Municipio, Claudia Mosqueira.
Mientras tanto, desde el área de Producción y Medio Ambiente destacaron: “Este año a pesar de las demoras de las semillas por la pandemia que atravesó el mundo, impulsamos la idea de que cada familia pueda tener su huerta en casa, y no vamos a parar hasta que así sea. Continuaremos con la entrega de plantines y semillas en cada lugar de Exaltación de la Cruz”.
Por otra parte, cabe destacar que en un contexto de pandemia, la iniciativa también se ha convertido en una herramienta para sostener la economía familiar cotidiana de los habitantes del distrito que más padecieron, sabiendo que el programa que busca fomentar la producción agroecológica, está dirigido a familias en situación de vulnerabilidad social. Sus semillas están asociadas a proyectos y actividades que respetan dicho criterio, y para poder acceder, los vecinos han tenido que completar un formulario de inscripción online, que les permitirá obtener su kit para armar la huerta familiar y el proceso de capacitación.
